ISteve K headshotInspired by President Barack Obama’s Farewell Address, I have decided to seek the office of Ward 3 School Committee. President Obama said “If something needs fixing, then lace up your shoes and do some organizing, if you’re disappointed by your elected officials, grab a clip board, get some signatures, and run for office yourself.”
I am running for School Committee because I have the knowledge of how government operates, (or should operate (funding sources, regulations, procurement process, program development and program evaluation) knowledge of community resources, social service programs and proven ability to establish networks with diverse populations – skills obtained during my 40-year Career with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. As a Program Development Specialist for the Commonwealth, my job was simple, analyze issues regarding the Department of Transitional Assistance Employment Services Program and: develop evidenced- based solutions and I believe these skills are needed to enhance the education of Brockton’s Children
As a retiree, I also have the time to research issues, identify problems and develop solutions based on evidenced based programs used by other communities and states to solve similar problems
